Following reports that she's left the Church of Scientology, longtime member Leah Remini has released a statement that expresses gratitude for the support she's received, but makes no mention of the religious organization.
"I wish to share my sincere and heartfelt appreciation for the overwhelming positive response I have received from the media, my colleagues and fans from around the world," the statement reads. "I am truly grateful and thankful for all your support."
If Remini has left Scientology, she wouldn't be the first famous name to do so in recent years.
Filmmaker Paul Haggis left the Church of Scientology in 2009.
In an interview with "Rock Center's" Harry Smith, Haggis explained his reasons for making the break.
"I was ashamed of my own my stupidity, of how I could have been purposely blind for so many years," he said.
As for Remini, in light of the reports, one of her recent tweets seems to point to a possible change of faith.
On Wednesday, one day before reports of her break from Scientology circulated, she retweeted a spiritual quote from Desmond Tutu.
NBC News reached out to the Church of Scientology about Remini's reported departure. In response, the organization said, "The Church respects the privacy of parishioners and has no further comment."
