Then again, soccer is boring.? Football isn?t.
It creates potential friction where an NFL team also owns a professional soccer team.? In New England, the Krafts are getting the brunt of some of that friction via fans of the soccer team the Krafts own.
Julian Cardillo of the Boston Globe (via SportsBusiness Daily) writes that ?[i]t appears to many that the Revolution are the Kraft family?s second priority, rather than an equal investment, to the New England Patriots.?
If it appears that way, that appearance would be accurate.? The Patriots have become one of the elite franchises in the NFL, the premier professional sports league in the United States.? The Revolution are an also-ran, at best, in a league that is an also-ran, at best.
Revolution Brian Bilello seems to think that the griping comes from soccer?s anti-football bias.
?I think both the Kraft family and the Hunt family, because they have NFL sides as well, I think there?s a weird perception,? Bilello told Cardillo.? ?Both families have been involved with the sport since the very beginning.? The fact that they?re involved in the NFL, that hurts them.?
Still, a Sports Illustrated poll of anonymous players pegged the Krafts as the worst owners in the MLS, and players like Thierry Henry and David Beckham have balked at playing on the FieldTurf at Gillette Stadium.
?There?s a lot of great things about having the Krafts as owners,? Bilello said.? ?They?ve supported this league.? They do things behind the scenes not just for the Revolution, but for the sport of soccer in this country.?
None of that matters to the average soccer fan, who can?t understand why Americans haven?t embraced the sport the way the rest of the world has.
Meanwhile, we can?t understand why the rest of the world hasn?t embraced football the way Americans have.

Conn. commuter trains collide; 60 go to hospitals
FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) ? Two commuter trains serving New York City collided in Connecticut during Friday's evening rush hour, sending 60 people to the hospital, including five with critical injuries, Gov. Dannel Malloy said.
About 250 people were on board the Metro-North trains when one heading east from New York City's Grand Central Station to New Haven derailed about 6:10 p.m. just outside Bridgeport, MTA and Bridgeport officials said.
The train was hit by a train heading west from New Haven to Grand Central on an adjacent track, MTA spokesman Aaron Donovan said. Some cars on the second train also derailed as a result of the collision.
Lola Oliver, 49, of Bridgeport, was on one of the trains when she suddenly found herself in mid-air.
"Finally I came to a stop on one of the seats. And I just gripped it because I felt the train sliding. It happened so fast I had no idea what was going on. All I know is we crashed," she told The Associated Press in a hospital interview.
Investigators Friday night did not know what caused the first train to derail. Malloy said there was no reason to believe it was anything other than an accident.
"We're most concerned about the injured and ultimately reopening the system," Malloy said from the scene about three hours after the crash.
The governor said that most people were not seriously hurt. Among those critically injured, he said, one's injuries were "very critical."
The Metro-North Railroad, a commuter line serving the northern suburbs, described it as a "major derailment." Photos showed a train car askew on the rails, with its end smashed up and brushing against another train. Amtrak suspended service indefinitely between New York and Boston.
Malloy said there was extensive damage to the train cars and the track, and it could take until Monday for normal service to be restored. He said the accident will have a "big impact on the Northeast Corridor."
The area where the accident happened was already down to two tracks because of repair work, Malloy said. Crews have been working for a long time on the electric lines above the tracks, the power source for the trains. He said Connecticut has an old system and no other alternate tracks.
By late evening, Bridgeport Police Chief Joseph Gaudett said everybody who needed treatment had been attended to, and authorities were beginning to turn their attention to investigating the cause.
"Everybody seemed pretty calm," he said. "Everybody was thankful they didn't get seriously hurt. They were anxious to get home to their families."
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority operates the Metro-North Railroad, the second-largest commuter railroad in the nation. The Metro-North main lines ? the Hudson, Harlem, and New Haven ? run northward from New York City's Grand Central Terminal into suburban New York and Connecticut.

iPhone 5S component leaks show updated vibrator assembly and more
While we most likely expect the iPhone 5S to carry the same exterior form factor as the iPhone 5, we'll most likely see lots of internal updates like we do with all "S" iterations. BGR has gotten ahold of some components that may confirm updates to the vibrator assembly, earpiece and speaker brackets, and more.
Taking a look at the images of the components leaked to BGR, major updates could be made to the vibrator assembly, earpiece and loud speaker brackets, the SIM tray, and more. The photo above is a photo of the vibrator assembly and component cable running to it which purportedly will surface in the iPhone 5S. The photo pictured below shows the current vibrator component cable and motor that is found in the iPhone 5.
Apple made the switch from a rotational vibrator motor in the iPhone 4S back to a linear motor in the iPhone 5 which was an odd choice. Rotational motors are typically a lot smoother and have less problems. The vibrator motor in the GSM variant of the iPhone 4 had a linear motor and typically saw more issues than the rotational variant found in the CDMA 4 and the iPhone 4S. This switch back was probably made in the iPhone 5 in order to conserve on space.
It looks as if the next generation iPhone will still feature a linear vibrational motor but with an overhaul and better design. This isn't surprising as the iPhone 5 has suffered vibrator issues. In my experience with AnoStyle and according to iMore's sources within Apple, the current vibrator assembly in the iPhone 5 can be sketchy at best when it comes to performance. If the cable isn't secured just right with the contacts laying on top of it, it produces a weak and/or sporadic vibration pattern. Securing the assembly to the actual cable would make sense and most likely solve a lot of the issues users are experiencing with the iPhone 5.
The other changes such as the loud speaker and earpiece brackets aren't surprising as shields and brackets typically do see revisions every year to some extent. Currently the iPhone 5 earpiece speaker is attached to the display assembly. While there haven't been many issues reported to iMore, it does take up quite a bit of space and could be changed to make room to accommodate other revised components.
The SIM tray doesn't appear to take a different sized SIM card but is shallower which could indicate that the contacts on the board have moved slightly, which isn't all that surprising with revised components and internal hardware. You can hit the link below to view all the components BGR managed to snag photos of.
Overall, it appears that Apple is minimizing the amount of space component cables need to occupy. The WiFi flex has shrunk as well as many of the other brackets and components. This begs the question, what is Apple making space for?

Tiny NASA Smartphone Satellites Photograph Earth from Space
Three consumer smartphones that were sent into orbit around Earth last month snapped some incredible photos of our planet from space.
The images were snitched together as part of NASA's PhoneSat initiative, which aims to show how existing technology could be incorporated into powerful low-cost satellites.
Named Alexander, Graham and Bell, the trio of tiny cube-shaped PhoneSats was launched into orbit during the inaugural test flight of Orbital Sciences Corp's Antares rocket on April 21.
Each PhoneSat had a smartphone for a brain. Alexander and Graham ? both PhoneSat 1.0s ? were battery-powered and carried a Nexus One smartphone running Goggle's Android operating system. Bell was a more advanced PhoneSat 2.0, built around a Nexus S smartphone running on Android. The nanosatellite was also outfitted with solar panels and a two-way radio that allowed engineers to control the satellite from the ground. What's perhaps most remarkable is that they were cheap. NASA officials were pleased with the brief mission, which ended on April 27, when the three satellites made a fiery re-entry into Earth's atmosphere.
"During the short time the spacecraft were in orbit, we were able to demonstrate the smartphones' ability to act as satellites in the space environment," Bruce Yost, the program manager for NASA's Small Satellite Technology Program, said in a statement from the space agency.
As part of this demonstration, the smarthphones' cameras captured photos of Earth and converted them into image-data "packets" to be beamed back on the amateur radio spectrum. These packets were then decoded and put together by the PhoneSat team and amateur ham radio operators.
"The PhoneSat project also provided an opportunity for NASA to collaborate with its space enthusiasts," Yost added. "Amateur radio operators from every continent but Antarctica contributed in capturing the data packets we needed to piece together the smartphones' image of Earth from space."
Alberto Guillen Salas, an engineer at the Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, Calif., who is working on the PhoneSat project, said the team had received more than 300 data packets just three days into the mission.
"About 200 of the data packets were contributed by the global community and the remaining packets were received from members of our team with the help of the Ames Amateur Radio Club station, NA6MF," Salas said.
The PhoneSats aren't the first smartphones to fly in space. A British-built satellite called STRaND-1, which was put into orbit earlier this year, was powered by a Google Nexus One phone.

Eminem wasn't stabbed -- claim was hoax

Eminem is just fine, his representatives say.
The text of the Facebook message was grim: "Rapper Eminem left nearly DEAD after being stabbed 4 times in NYC!" But the claim was untrue, and the attached photo of a tattooed man's back with deep slash marks was not a picture of the rapper.
"These happen all the time. He's fine," a representative of the rapper told SPIN.
But the creepy claim gained some traction among music fans anyway, as many who saw it on Facebook and Twitter shared it without verifying the facts.
Those who click on the link, supposedly to see a video of the attack (!), are forced to share the link with their Facebook friends. "After sharing the post, the link redirects to a survey website promising ?free prizes? along with more Eminem stabbing news, which, of course, never comes," the International Business Times reports.
As the International Business Times notes, the same photo of a man's slashed back was used in a similar scam in 2011 to claim that Justin Bieber was stabbed -- he was not.
A new Eminem album is due out soon, and rumors are that it may include an appearance by comic Chris Rock.
